Untamed Tribe LLC
Effective Date: February 8, 2026
This Medical & Emergency Response Policy explains how Untamed Tribe LLC (“Untamed Tribe”) prepares for and responds to medical issues and emergencies during expeditions, courses, and activities.
Our objective is to manage risk responsibly, communicate clearly, and respond appropriately when incidents occur—while recognizing the inherent limitations of operating in outdoor and remote environments.
1. Scope & Purpose
Untamed Tribe activities may take place in remote or undeveloped environments where access to medical care, emergency services, or evacuation may be delayed, limited, or unavailable.
This policy is intended to:
- Clarify Untamed Tribe’s role and limitations
- Set expectations for participants
- Support safe, consistent decision-making by guides
- Reduce confusion during emergencies
2. Guides Are Not Medical Providers
Untamed Tribe guides and staff:
- Are not licensed medical providers, unless explicitly stated
- Do not provide medical diagnosis, treatment, or step-by-step medical procedures
- Do not replace emergency medical services
Guides may have first aid, wilderness first aid, or wilderness first responder training, but such training is supportive and limited in scope.
3. Participant Responsibility for Health & Preparedness
Participants are solely responsible for:
- Assessing their physical and mental fitness to participate
- Managing personal medical conditions and medications
- Carrying required personal medications and supplies
- Disclosing relevant medical information as requested
Participants should consult a qualified medical professional prior to participation if they have concerns about health, fitness, or medication management.
4. Medical Information & Disclosure
Participants may be asked to provide medical or emergency information for safety and preparedness purposes only.
Failure to disclose relevant information may increase risk and may affect emergency response options. Untamed Tribe relies on participant disclosures and does not independently verify medical information.
5. On-Trip Medical Issues
For minor issues (e.g., blisters, fatigue, mild illness), guides may:
- Adjust pacing or activity
- Modify participation
- Recommend rest or self-care
For more serious concerns, guides will prioritize participant safety and group safety.
6. Emergency Assessment & Decision-Making
In the event of a serious injury, illness, or safety concern, Untamed Tribe guides may:
- Conduct a basic assessment
- Stabilize the situation within the limits of their training
- Initiate evacuation, emergency contact, or rescue procedures
- Use satellite communication, GPS tracking, or emergency alert systems
Decisions regarding evacuation, route changes, or activity termination are made at the sole discretion of the guide, based on safety considerations.
7. Evacuation & Rescue Limitations
Participants acknowledge that:
- Evacuation or rescue may be delayed or unavailable
- Weather, terrain, location, and external factors may affect response times
- Rescue outcomes cannot be guaranteed
Untamed Tribe does not guarantee evacuation, rescue, or medical outcomes.
8. Costs & Insurance
Participants are financially responsible for all costs associated with:
- Medical treatment
- Evacuation or rescue
- Transportation
- Repatriation
Independent trip insurance is required and is the primary means of covering these costs.
Untamed Tribe does not provide medical, evacuation, or rescue insurance.
9. Removal for Medical or Safety Reasons
If a participant is unable to safely continue due to medical, physical, or psychological concerns, Untamed Tribe may:
- Modify participation, or
- Remove the participant from the activity
Such decisions are made in the interest of safety and may occur without refund, in accordance with the Booking, Payment & Cancellation Policy.
10. Emergency Communication Systems
Untamed Tribe may use:
- GPS tracking
- Satellite communication devices
- Emergency alert systems
These systems are intended to support safety but are subject to technical limitations and do not guarantee emergency response.
